Had an amazing time at the track with one of my favorite photographers, Sam Abell during his workshop at the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops.. Here I was panning to capture the energy of the race.

Had a great Senior Portrait shoot a couple of days ago. Was able to give several options in just over in hour of shooting.

As I promised here is another shot from Texas. We were in the hill country south of Austin. I started to take pictures of my wife and her dad then I added my sister in law and her boyfriend. Right then I saw savannah come down and I captured the moment with her in the air. A flying unicorn!
I have traveled to the hill country in Texas south of Austin a few times now. But I think this trip was the first that I was able to capture some of the magic, photographically. I will post others but I thought this one was magical and fun.
Had a wild time with over 30 kids in one house! I took a lot of fun photographs but this simple window lit picture was one of my favorites.
I couldn't take photographs during the ceremony... but I did take a picture right before. This is where we sat in a circle around a small fire with sage burning throughout. This was the largest smudge stick I have ever seen!
I thought the in camera effect created a sense of what we entered into.
I decided to take my daughter out of school for a day to have a magical experience farther North in New Mexico. On the way to a traditional Navajo Ceremony, my daughter, my mother, and myself all stopped by Abiquiu Lake and appreciate the site of water. My daughter was also excited to clime the rocks. I took a test shot with my camera making sure my exposure was where I wanted it and that shot made me admire the shadows. I watched the shadows as the quickly developed into a photo I wanted to create. A photo that captured the warmth that the day held.

I have always had a hard time photographing outside the projects I am working on, so when Aline Smithson inspired me to "shoot what I know", I decided to take the idea and photograph my life, my family, my garden, and whatever absurd happenings fill my frame.
I will be posting at least one picture every week and am excited to share these moments with you photographically!
